Skoda Vision T
With oil prices in free fall, consumers
are less interested in sedans and estates and go for crossovers, SUVs and
pickup trucks, so a Skoda workhorse would make sense.
With the Kodiaq set to debut at the
Paris Motor Show in fall, followed by a possible Coupe version and a CUV that
will rival the likes of the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008 and
Opel/Vauxhall Mokka, the brand is rapidly expanding its limited off-road
portfolio.
A pickup truck however is, right now,
nowhere in Skoda's radar, but if it were to materialize it would look similar
to what TheophilusChin did in this rendering. This means a familiar front
fascia inspired by the VisionS Concept, a raised suspension, side steps for
easier access to the cabin and, of course, a sizeable rear bed.
Renault already has the Alaskan ready
for global markets and more and more automakers are jumping in. Given Skoda's
less posh and more utilitarian image, it wouldn't be that far-fetched for it to
join the club.
