Caterham Seven 310
Claiming to "represent the perfect
balance of power and confidence-inspiring handing characteristics", the
Caterham Seven 310 is the latest addition to the British brand's lineup.
Available to order now and with
deliveries estimated to commence early 2017, it costs £ 24,995 (US$ 33,093) and
benefits from upgraded camshafts and engine remapping, which generate an
additional 17 HP on top of the Seven 270. The Seven 310 is also Caterham's
first model to benefit from LED headlights, as an optional feature, which will
be available across the range.
The extra punch brings the output up to
152 HP, allowing the 310 to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 0.2
seconds faster than the 270, at 4.8 seconds, and up to a top speed of 203
km/h, 6 km/h higher than the lesser model. Existing Seven 270 owners
can be upgraded to 310 specs by paying an extra £ 1,495 (US$ 1,979).
“When we were going through the
engineering process on the race engine upgrade, we had one eye on the
aftermarket, of course. But, once the re-worked car hit the road, we knew it
was far too good to be marketed simply as an option. The Seven 310 was
born", said the Chief Motorsport and Technical Officer for Caterham Cars,
Simon Lambert.
