Citroen C1 Furio
The C1 is hardly the most
performance-oriented model Citroën has ever offered. But at least it can look
the part, in part.
Launched in the UK is the new C1 Furio.
It's based on Citroën's version of the same tiny hatchback that Peugeot sells
as the 108 and Toyota as the Aygo. The Furio edition starts out as the
three-door hatchback in mid-level Feel trim, but sets itself apart with
blacked-out 15-inch alloys, a sporty exterior graphics package, red mirrors,
rear faux diffuser, center exhaust, grey cloth upholstery and a tachometer.
The standard engines still apply, which
means either an 82-horsepower inline-three or a 68-horse diesel. That means it
doesn't quite have the bite to back up its little bark, but it also remains
affordable to buy and insure for young drivers especially.
Pricing starts at just £ 10,855 (US$ 14,223) or about the price of a Nissan
Versa Note. So while there are cheaper new cars on the market, there aren't
many, and you can bet the others won't look quite as sporty.
