Systems (ALDS) is working with American global security and aerospace company,
Lockheed Martin in regards to its Indian Armed Forces Light Specialist Vehicle
(LSV) and Light Armored Multipurpose (LAM) vehicle programs.
Lockheed Martin’s High
Mobility Vehicle or Common Vehicle Next Generation (CVNG) makes available the
base platform for development. Indian Armed Forces is keen to modernize its
protected wheeled vehicle fleet. The current development could lead to
opportunities beyond the LSV and LAM programmes at a later date.
Ashok Leyland takes on the
role of prime contractor and will provide a manufacturing hub for global
deliveries of these vehicles and variants. As a CVNG licensed manufacturer,
this is a big move for ALDS to begin global exports.
Vinod K. Dasari, Managing
Director of Ashok Leyland says the company has a strong defense portfolio, and
is the largest supplier of logistics vehicles to the Indian Army. The move
helps ALDS develop armed forces solutions for new avenues, and consequently,
expand.
Scott Greene, Vice President
of Ground Vehicles for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control says the CVNG
multi-terrain vehicle currently serves worldwide. the company is keen about
opportunities regarding CVNG supply to India and beyond.

armed forces solutions across segments.
