Nissan Navara Euro 6 Diesel (Update)

Nissan Navara range has now received a more efficient Euro 6 turbodiesel engine.

We're talking about a 2.3-liter dCi diesel whose upgrade covers both 190 PS twin-turbo as well as 160 PS single turbo power versions. Now, CO2 emissions start from as low as 159 g/km (8 g/km less than on the older Euro 5 engine), which according to Nissan, makes the Navara the best in class from this perspective. Fuel consumption  has also improved on average by 1.4 mpg UK, now reaching 46.3 mpg (6.1 l/100km).

The Euro 6 Navara now puts out less NOx thanks to its new Selective Catalytic Reduction system, or SCR. An AdBlue tank has also made its way to the Navara - with a filler flap on the opposite side to the diesel tank so that owners won't become confused.

This tank can be filled from bottles or pumps and it will hold 17 liters - allowing for up to 11,500 km between refills. Also, driver assistance messages for the AdBlue system have been integrated into the Navara's LCD information screen, situated between the two main dials.

The upgrades include an Idle-Stop System (ISS) that's now standard on all Navara manual models - which also happen to come with a color information screen, cruise control with speed limited, Bluetooth and a multi-function steering wheel. The gross vehicle weight has increased to 25-35 kg, while kerb weight has increased 5-38 kg depending on the model.

The Nissan Navara is also available with the automaker's famous Around View Monitor camera system, as well as with Forward Emergency Braking - both systems that have proved popular on models such as the Juke, Qashqai and X-Trail.
