2017 Jeep Compass (China)

GAC-Fiat has released the first official pictures of the China-spec 2017 Jeep Compass. Reports suggests that the new Compass will go on sale in China before the end of this year.

The design is an evolutionary jump from the outgoing model, featuring a wider grille flanked by small projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a Grand Cherokee-inspired bumper, and a contoured engine hood. The profile has a strong shoulder line running across and bold chrome window lining that flows into the rear windshield. At the back, the new Compass has wraparound LED taillamps, chrome-finished twin exhaust pipes and a roof spoiler.

The interior borrows cues from the Jeep Cherokee SUV, featuring a dual tone black and ivory dashboard with gloss black and silver trim for a premium look. The new Compass comes equipped with features like an 8.4 inch UConnect touchscreen system, configurable TFT screen in instrument cluster, keyless entry with start/stop button, automatic climate control and electronic parking brake.

The Compass is likely to borrow the locally manufactured Renegade’s engine lineup, which includes a 1.4 liter T-Jet petrol engine mated to a seven-speed DCT and a 2.0L Tigershark with 6-speed AT. A 4WD system could be exclusive to the 2.0L variant.
