2017 Nissan Micra (spyshot)
A pre-production prototype of the next generation
Nissan Micra was spied at a parking strip in an European city. One of the
spyshots, uploaded by user ‘205Gentry’ of WorldScoop Forum, offers a first look
at the new Micra’s interior, which is a giant departure from the outgoing
model.
The new Micra’s interior is influenced by Nissan’s
latest design language. Most of the design cues seem to be borrowed from the
Nissan Kicks, featuring a new steering wheel design with long spokes and small
steering pad, dual tone dashboard housing a touchscreen infotainment system,
large chrome-finished HVAC vents on either side and new instrument cluster.
Like the interior, the
exterior design will be a revolutionary jump from the outgoing model, featuring
a bold Nissan V-motion grille, angular projector headlamps, new taillights that
protrude and a roof spoiler.
The new Micra is based on Renault-Nissan’s modular
CMF platform (specifically CMF-B), and will be manufactured at Renault’s plant
in Flins, France, starting in the coming weeks. It will be sold only in
European markets, whereas the India-spec model, which will also be exported, is
expected to be slightly different.
