2017 KTM Duke 390 (render)
The 2017 KTM Duke 390 showed the many changes coming with the generation change.
Now, a speculative rendering from MotorBeam provides us an unofficial look at
the street bike.
The KTM Duke 390
will undergo an evolutionary redesign and get a host of upgrades and changes.
The headlamp, frame, handlebar, instrument panel, switchgear, exhaust and many
other elements have been seen changed in spy photos and spy videos. The new
regular exhaust canister that will replace the underbelly unit will reportedly
add 4-5 kg to the weight.
The all-new Duke 390 will feature ride-by-wire
technology and allow the rider to choose from multiple ride modes. Moreover, a
second counter-balancer shaft for the engine, ECU update and cooling system
improvements are expected. The new instrument panel will allow for smartphone
integration, show GPS data and change its colour as the rev count goes higher.
The next-gen KTM Duke 390 is expected to be powered
by a revised version of the current model‘s 44 hp 373.27 cc
single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The improved engine should be mated to a
6-speed transmission.
The 2017 KTM Duke 390 is expected to debut at EICMA
2016 in Milan, Italy in November, and will reportedly be launched in India in
early 2017.
