2017 Audi A7 (render)
Autobild has created a couple of renderings to offer a better look at what
could be the final production-spec design of Audi A7. The new A7 may make its world debut as early
as H2 2017.
The exterior styling of the next gen Audi A7 will be
influenced by Audi’s new design language, which was showcased by the Audi
Prologue concept. It features a wide Singleframe hexagonal grille flanked by
sleek headlamps, new bumper design and new LED taillights. The design will be
evolutionary, but will look curvier and flatter than before. It retains the
flowing roofline that defines the A7 bodystyle and the retractable spoiler.
The next gen Audi A7 will be based on the second
generation MLB platform, and appears to have a longer wheelbase, wider track
and shorter overhangs. With the new platform, it will be considerably lighter
than the current A7.
With the new MLB platform comes a new lineup of
engines. Audi will offer 2.0L four- and 3.0L six-cylinder TSI petrol and TDI
diesel engines, paired with a 7-speed S-Tronic. The Quattro AWD system will be
equipped in most variants.
