2017 Honda CB1100EX
The standard CB1100EX model gets a raft of nips and
tucks for 2017. Front and rear lights are now LED and the new 18in wheels run
stainless steel spokes. The rims roll under a new 41 mm Showa Dual Bending Valve
fork and matched dual Showa rear shocks.
The engine gets the same improvements as the
CB1100RS with revised inlets and smaller, lighter dual mufflers – and the
assist slipper clutch. The geometry is slightly more relaxed than the RS, the
seat is a marginal 5 mm lower at 790 mm, and the weight has increased three kilos
to 255 kg.
Those newly laced 18in wheels run 110/80 R18 and 140/70 R18 rubber,
and like the RS, they benefit from L-shaped valves for easy access at the
pumps. The braking hardware is a little less focused than the RS, with
non-radial four-pot Nissins clamping twin 296 mm floating discs up front. The EX
gets the same LED lighting, but reverts to period-style bulbous indicators for
that heritage feel.
The CB1100EX will be available in Pearl Shining
Yellow, Pearl Sunbeam White and Candy Prominence Red.
