2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS (USA)

Mercedes turned their GL-Class model into the GLS, giving it a mid-cycle refresh which included both exterior and interior changes.

It boasts a new grille, new headlights, bumper, taillight graphics and wheel designs, while the interior gets a redesigned center console, 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel and fresh trim options.

A few of the GLS's standard and optional features, detailing a couple of its clever gadgets like the Magic Vision Control system. The engines, transmissions (both 9-speed and 7-speed) and on-board tech, where the latter is much improved compared to what you had in the old GL.

In terms of a price-performance ratio, going for the 449 HP GLS550 or 577 HP GLS 63 AMG models will mean spending upwards of US$ 93,850, or US$ 124,100 respectively, so the US$ 68,700 GLS450 base model remains your best bet if you're not looking to spend "supercar-money" on your SUV.

The GLS450 is powered by a 357 HP 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 which also produces 500 Nm of torque. It's not as quick as the other two models, but it will still hit 96 km/h in under 6 seconds.
