BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition
To congratulate Marco Wittmann on his 2016 DTM
driver's championship, BMW has unveiled a special edition M4 aptly coined the
DTM Champion Edition.
Restricted to just 200 units worldwide, the BMW M4
DTM Champion Edition has been extensively modified over the standard M4. As a
matter of fact, the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder now utilizes the
same water-injection system as the M4 GTS.
The DTM Champion Edition pumps out 493
hp and 600 Nm of torque, figures identical to those of the GTS.
Consequently, the special edition will sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in
a mere 3.8 seconds before running into a 305 km/h electronically-limited top
speed.
The car is adorned in
a selection of distinctive styling elements. Most notably, all 200 examples
will be painted in Alpine White and complete with a livery of BMW M's three
distinctive colors. Additionally, the model adopts some aerodynamic changes including
the fitment of canards on the front bumper, a large front splitter, carbon wing
mirrors, side skirt attachments, a rear diffuser and a towering rear wing.
Unique matte grey wheels come standard as do carbon ceramic brakes.
Inside, new M Carbon bucket seats wrapped in
alcantara and merino leather have been installed as has an M sports steering
wheel, a white rollover bar in place of the rear seats and numerous alcantara
touches.
Prices for the M4 DTM Champion Edition start at
148,500 euros (US$ 162,926) in Germany.
