Ducati SuperSport
The new Ducati SuperSport will be unveiled at 6pm,
Tuesday October 4 as part of the INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany.
The new bike, which was available to view to
show-goers at this year's World Ducati Week, is expected to use a 939 cc engine
based on that of the current Hypermotard, although Ducati say 80% of the engine
has been changed and it will develop around 110 bhp.
The motorcycle, codenamed Project 1312, will be
available in two variants – Supersport and Supersport S. Few weeks ago, Apart
from all the equipment from the standard model, the Supersport S will come
equipped with adjustable Öhlins suspensions and a removable rear seat cowl. The
product manager Paolo Quattrino revealed: "The engine is tuned to be
really, really smooth because it’s a sportsbike with road focused performance."

focused performance. The Testastretta 11° 937 cc liquid-cooled engine is
expected to deliver 113 hp of power at 9,000 rpm and 97.9 Nm of torque at 7,500
rpm. Other features on the 939 Supersport will include ABS, three rider modes –
sport, touring and urban – 8-level traction control and Diablo Rosso II tyres.
A multifunction, all-digital LCD display will offer a plethora of information.
Also, as seen on the display, you can connect your smartphone with the
motorcycle using Bluetooth and control features such
as music.
Ducati will also detail updates to the Multistrada
1200 range, including a new airbox and engine calibration to give the
Testastretta DVT engine a fuller mid range. The new Euro4 compliant Monster 821
and Diavel will also be unveiled, alongside minor changes to the 1299 Panigale
and 1299 Panigale S, both of which receive the latest version of the Ducati
Traction Control system and Ducati Wheelie Control.
