Hyundai i20 SUV (render)
Seen here is a rendering of the forthcoming Hyundai
i20-based SUV, which started testing in Europe this month. The render incorporates design cues seen on the Hyundai Intrado concept.
According to reports, the i20-based SUV will be sold in markets where the
Hyundai Creta is not present.
Set to be launched in international markets within
18 months, the i20-based SUV would target markets in USA, Europe and Australia.
It will rival the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008 and Fiat 500X in
the European market.
The engine lineup would be sourced from the 2017
Hyundai i30, which includes a 1.4-liter MPI engine, a 1.0-liter T-GDI
turbocharged engine and a 1.4-liter T-GDI turbocharged petrol unit. A 1.6-liter
four-cylinder CRDi diesel engine could also be offered with combinations of
6-speed manual and automatic units.
