2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift (spy shot)
The W205 Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift has been
spotted again but this time, the test mules seen here appear to be a little more spartan compared to our previous sighting of
the BMW 3 Series rival.
Visually, everything appears to remain
unchanged from before, although minor visual updates, such as new bumpers, tail
light graphics and alloy wheel designs, are expected to feature on the updated
model.
However, further up
the range, Multibeam LED headlamps will likely be introduced, as we’ve seen on
an earlier prototype. The spyshots also included photos of the new
car’s interior, which may appear familiar to some but with a few notable
differences, chief among which is the all-new steering wheel.
Retaining the three-spoke layout as before, the new
item features a smaller centre boss, while the on-wheel buttons are of a
completely new design, unlike any seen in the current Mercedes line-up.
Aside from the steering wheel, the shortcut buttons
(navi, radio, media, telephone and car settings) seen below the climate control
switchgear has been omitted, and there is a new push start button as well. As
mentioned earlier, the cars spotted by our spy photographers are likely
low-spec test mules, so fancier items such as the analogue clock, CD changer
and optional touchpad aren’t seen here.
The new C-Class will likely see revisions under the
hood, with Mercedes’ latest 9G-Tronic transmission (used in the W213 E-Class)
replacing the ageing 7G-Tronic, along with updated petrol and diesel mills.
