BMW S1000RR
Custom by Praem
Two French
brothers decided to commemorate the world of motorbikes with a custom-built
retro-inspired BMW S1000RR, and the result is nothing short of astonishing.
BMW S1000RR also known as one of the world’s
fastest production bikes, has loads of racing pedigree to its name, as it was
specially created to satisfy World Superbike homologation. Capable of
delivering 200 HP, the Bavarian powerhouse is an amazing piece of kit, boasting
respectable performance figures thanks to a 208 Kg weight.
But Praem –
the company responsible for the bespoke build – wanted to take the concept of
“racing heritage” to the next level, suggesting to BMW Motorrad a project based
on the motorcycle that revolutionized the world of motorsport. Inspired by
endurance Suzuka 8 Hour bikes from the 1970s and 1980s, the custom shop set on
creating the ultimate speed bike.
A BMW bike modeled to look as an early 80s Suzuka racer, but
the end result is fascinating, with each body element stripped down,
re-engineered and re-modeled to achieve a lighter overall weight – a desirable
trait in endurance racing where the key word is consistency.
