Citroen DS
4S
The new Citroen DS 4S has been launched on the Chinese car market. The premium hatchback was designed
in France specifically for the Chinese market, and will be manufactured there
for local consumption. It will be positioned under
the Citroen
DS5 and will replace the
unsuccessful Citroen
DS 4.
DS is a completely separate brand in China, with its own dealers,
marketing, factory, and even joint venture; the DS models are manufactured byChangan-PSA, while the normal Citroen and Peugeot cars are made by Dongfeng-PSA.
Instead it
bears a more striking similarity to the Peugeot 308 based on the newer EMP2
platform, albeit with more upscale details from the LED headlights to the
handcrafted leather interior. It's also been stretched to offer more rear-seat
space in order to meet Chinese tastes in upscale automobiles.
The DS 4S
available with three engines: a 3-cylinder 1.2 turbo with 137 Hp, a 1.6 turbo with 167 Hp, and a 1.8 turbo with 204 Hp. All will be mated to a
six-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to the front wheels.
Inside, this
refinement is fully expressed through the leather offer, both in the choice of
materials 'quality and in the exclusive DS finish, with a handcrafted fully
leather dashboard (and door panels) that embodies the spirit of Parisian luxury
craftsmanship; each one takes 8 hours to complete.
The production of the
watchstrap-style seat upholstery has been a DS brand innovation and exclusive
feature since the earliest days of the company. The new red tone leather
enhances this refined image and the extreme attention to detail that
characterise DS's unique brand of French-style luxury.
Price for the
DS 4S will start at 149.900 yuan and end at 229.900 yuan.
