Honda Avancier 1.5T

Chinese auto portal autohome.com.cn has reported that Honda Avancier will soon be offered with a smaller 1.5 litre mill from the new Civic, as a more affordable option.

That VTEC Turbo four-cylinder mill, will be slightly more powerful than Civic, producing 193 PS. That’s around the same as the engine in the new CR-V, which makes 190 hp at 5,600 rpm and 243 Nm of torque between 2,000 to 5,000 rpm. In comparison, the 2.0 litre Avancier produces 268 hp and 370 Nm.

Unlike the 2.0 litre model, which comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the 1.5 litre model will be offered with a CVT, as with other models equipped with this engine.

Elsewhere, the 1.5 litre model looks similar to the 2.0 litre model, with the same design inspired by the Concept D, albeit with a different multi-spoke design for the wheels. As standard, the car comes with halogen projector headlights, with the 2.0’s full-LED headlights available as an option. Also optional are LED fog lights, the LaneWatch blind spot monitor, a reverse camera and a panoramic sunroof.

The Avancier 1.5 litre turbo is set to go on sale in March, at a price of 220,000 yuan.
