Keeway RKS 125
Keeway was present at the EICMA show in
Milan to present its 2017 products. The new RKS 125, a small-displacement roadster designed on the basis of the RK 125.
The model is distinguished by a part-cycle and
an aesthetic with more sporting pretensions.
The rims, which retain their diameter of 17 ",
exchange their 5 split sticks against a more dynamic design with 6 sticks. The
front brake disc, which is now coupled to the rear drum of Ø 130 mm via CBS (a
legal obligation), has its diameter increased to Ø 240 mm, the design now being
petal type. At the rear, the damping goes into a central position with a red
shock absorber with an upgrading diameter.
The equipment remains faithful to the RK 125, with
an electric start system on the handlebars and a simple but effective
multifunctional instrument panel. Note also the efforts of the manufacturer to
improve the comfort of the journeys in duo: saddle redesigned redesigned,
handles of maintenance and retractable passenger pads more ergonomic. On the
other hand, no LED lights and other electronic frills!
The Keeway RKS 125 takes advantage of the 124.5cc
4-stroke single cylinder already known on the RKV 125. With its 4 valves and
its simple overhead camshaft, it develops a little more than 11 hp For a torque
of 9.2 Nm. Characteristics which, although rising, remain in the average of the
segment.
No price
has yet been announced but in view of the consequent evolutions, this novelty
should see its price happily over the bar of € 1700. A tariff that will remain
well placed in front of the entry-level Japanese roadsters, Honda CB125F (€ 2649) and Yamaha YBR125 (€ 2599) in the lead.
