Honda Jade facelift (China)

The Honda Jade facelift has just arrived in China at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show. The Honda Jade now adopts more of a family look with a ‘solid wing face’ grille, while full-LED headlamps grace the front.

Other visual enhancements include a new front bumper with revised foglamp surrounds, while around the back, reverse lights form a larger area of the overall tail lamp cluster, with a U-shaped chrome bar forming a connected look between the tail lights near the bottom of the tailgate.

The door handles, meanwhile, appear to be chromed units. Inside, the six-seat cabin allows multiple configurations, with a V-shaped slant to the seats’ positioning for ease of movement between rows, according to Honda.

The Jade facelift is powered by a 1.8 litre i-VTEC naturally-aspirated engine producing 139 hp and 174 Nm of torque, which is carried over from the pre-facelift. A 1.5 litre, 156 hp turbocharged four, which already serves in the Japan-market Jade RS, is expected to join the Chinese line-up later.

For the 1.8 litre launch variants, there is a choice of five-speed automatic or continously variable transmission, depending on variant. Safety equipment for the facelifted Honda Jade include Isofix child seat anchors for the rear seats, emergency stop signal, hill start assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The facelifted Honda Jade goes on sale in China priced from 149,800 yuan for the base Comfort Edition LXi to 183,800 yuan for the CVT-equipped Luxury VTi-S variant.
