Toyota Vios FS hatch and Yaris L sedan
Toyota
Vios FS hatch and Yaris L sedan has unveiled at the 2016 Guangzhou Motor Show. The new
variants expand the Vios and Yaris L ranges in China, which were hitherto only available
in sedan and hatchback bodystyles respectively.
Each one gets the other’s front fascia.
On the Vios hatch, there’s the redesigned face first seen on the facelifted
sedan at the Beijing Auto Show earlier this year. Reshaped headlights are
linked to a new T-shaped upper grille.
Meanwhile a wider lower grille integrates the front
fog lights and are flanked by vertical LED daytime running lights. The rear is
unchanged from the facelifted Yaris L, with LED tail lights carrying slimmer
indicators, plus a redesigned bumper.
The Yaris L sedan, gains the
polarising front end seen on the facelifted hatch, albeit thankfully without
the black mask that makes it look like it has a moustache. It’s still not what
you’d call handsome, however, thanks to the multitude of contours and grilles.
The rear end is unchanged from the revised Vios sedan, with new LED tail
lights and reprofiled rear bumper.
Both cars are powered by the same 99 hp 1.3 litre
and 107 hp 1.5 litre Dual VVT-i engines as the Vios sedan and Yaris L hatch,
matched to either a five-speed manual or a CVT with a virtual seven-speed mode.
