Infiniti line-up (LA Auto Show 2016)
Infiniti has detailed its lineup for the Los Angeles Auto Show 2016 which will include a number of North American debuts
for the company.
First will be the QX Sport Inspiration
concept unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show. The model
previews a next-generation mid-size SUV from the brand and incorporates the
firm’s bold design philosophy.
The LA concept will be finished in a special shade
of matte grey and fitted with a set of 22-inch bronze wheels with matching
brake calipers.
Also set to be displayed in LA will be Infiniti’s
advanced variable compression VC-Turbo engine. Detailed just a few months ago,
the engine is a world first and is able to alter its compression ratio between
8:1 and 14:1 depending on whether the driver wants high performance or maximum
fuel efficiency. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine is capable of delivering
268 hp and 288 lb-ft of torque and is both lighter and more compact than
comparable V6s.
The brand is also bringing along the 2017 Q60 3.0t
Sport to the show. Most
importantly, these changes include three new turbocharged engines for different
spec levels.
The 3.0t Sport bound for LA is
powered by a new 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine delivering 300 hp and
295 lb-ft of torque. The model also adopts a number of components found in the
range-topping Q60 Red Sport 400 such as sport-tuned Dynamic Digital Suspension
and carbon fiber trim.
Lastly, the
Q60 Neiman Marcus Limited Edition, created for the luxury retailer’s annual
Christmas Book. Priced at US$ 63,000, the model includes a plaque of the vehicle’s
VIN number, a Neiman Marcus-branded indoor car cover and a leather weekend bag
from the retailer. The model itself is based around the Red Sport 400 and
therefore utilizes a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 400 hp on tap.
