KTM X-Bow R and X-Bow RR

KTM has revealed the facelifted X-Bow R and X-Bow RR at the 2016 Essen Motor Show. Both the X-Bow R and the X-Bow RR are powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged engine from Audi.

In the X-Bow R it kicks out 295 bhp and 407 Nm of torque. The X-Bow RR takes the lunacy level to 11 thanks to 350 bhp and 475 Nm of torque. It was quite difficult to differentiate between the two track focused X-Bows but KTM has now dropped what it calls the Aerodynamic Package 4 on the more mental RR which should make identifying the two racy variants of X-Bow easier.

The package adds a front splitter, special underbody covers and a massive wing on the rear end gives the RR 30 percent more downforce than a regular X-Bow R. The aero trickery along with the sticky tyres also mean that the X-Bow RR can pull 2G through the corners.  The effects of the aero trickery will be visible to the world thanks to the lack of a roof and a windscreen, so we do advise you to wear a helmet like you would on other KTMs.

KTM has not given out any performance figures for either track maniac, but owners of older RR variants of the X-Bow can retrofit the Aerodynamic Package 4 to their cars.
