Volvo S90, V90 and XC90 (Update)
Volvo S90, V90 and XC90 are practically new to the
market, yet the automaker wants to keep them constantly updated with the latest
technology.
The safety tech systems that are
already available is the Slippery Road Alert, which collects road surface info
from cars further ahead and warns drivers approaching a slippery surface.
Another fresh feature is the Hazard Light Alert, which warns whoever is behind
the wheel of vehicles that have activated their hazard warning lights,
providing them with enough time to safely slow down.
In addition to the latest safety equipment, the
Swedish have also introduced several new Drive-E powertrain variants, which
promise to deliver "an attractive balance of fuel economy and
drivability". In the S90, the D3 four-cylinder diesel engine, which is
also available with all-wheel drive, returns 4.3 l/100 km and
emits 114 g/km CO2 regardless of the gearbox choice, which could include the
new six-speed manual or six-speed automatic.
The smartphone integration offering already includes
Apple CarPlay, but Volvo has now added Android Auto functionality as well.
Moreover, the 90 series will also get the Over-The-Air navigation update, which
ensures that the car always has the latest maps on-board. The color
palette has received a new shade, called Maple Brown, which can be ordered on
the S90 and V90.
