The global version of the next
generation Hyundai Verna has been spotted testing in Spain, courtesy of Motor1.
The test mule appears to
feature a hexagonal grille with horizontal chrome slats, new headlamps, and
vertical wraparound taillamps. The front and rear-end of the car will see minor
changes to adapt to the tastes of global customers.
In China, the next gen Verna is
offered with a choice between an 100 hp 1.4L and 123 hp 1.6L four-cylinder
petrol engines from the previous Verna, paired with 6-speed manual and
automatic transmissions. The India-spec Verna will additionally offer 1.4- and
1.6-litre diesel engines, and the latter could exclusively equipped with
mild-hybrid tech to rival the Maruti Ciaz SHVS.
The first market to receive the
new Verna is China, where it is sold between RMB 72,800 – RMB 105,800. The new Verna will be introduced in Russia as the
next Hyundai Solaris, in markets like the U.S and Middle East as the 2018
Hyundai Accent, and in India in 2017, from where it will be exported globally.
