2017 Subaru BRZ (UK)
For next year, Subaru BRZ has been
updated in just about every area, from the exterior to the interior, plus of
course the powertrain, suspension and in terms of safety. Out front, the
45-degree stepped accent on the bumper limits airflow into the intake and
improves the handling and the ride while offering a wider, lower stance.
Other exterior upgrades include the full-LED
headlights, newly designed rear lights, an aerodynamic pedestal rear spoiler
and a new 10-spoke design for the wheels. Inside, the BRZ features a new
4.2" color LCD multi-information display, packing a G force meter,
steering angle gauge, brake force gauge, lap timer and torque/power corves.
There's also a new steering wheel with better grip, boasting audio control
switches. Throughout the cabin, there are higher quality materials, including
Alcantara and leather seats.
In order to increase the overall driving experience, Subaru
increased the strength of the cylinder blocks, buffed and polished the valve
stems, decreased the weight of the rocker arms and made a lower friction
camshaft - thus resulting in a more responsive, fuel efficient engine.
Even the dampers have been redesigned to dampen
vibration and reduce body roll while increasing cornering precision.
For drivers who prefer a sporty feel above all else,
there's a new TRACK mode to use, whereas urban drivers can benefit from the new
Hill Start Assist system. The 2017 Subaru BRZ will be available this Spring in
SE Lux trim only with either a manual or automatic transmission. UK pricing
will also be confirmed in due course.
