2017 Toyota Corolla (Oman)

The 2017 Toyota Corolla made its local premiere at the Oman International Motor Show earlier this month.

Top variants of the new Corolla sold in the Middle East feature Bi-Beam LED projectors headlamps with LED DRLs, new bumper design with muscular contours and bumper-wide intake, and LED lights in the revised taillamps. The car showcased is finished in an all new Phantom Brown color.

Inside, the only visible changes are the new buttons and display for the single-zone automatic HVAC system, spherical HVAC vents for driver and front passenger, updated Optitron instrument cluster and a 7-inch T-Connect touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. Toyota claims to have improved cabin luxury by using soft-touch materials and contrast stitching on the dashboard.

In the Middle East, the Corolla is available with two petrol engine options. The base model packs a ZR-FBE 1.6L VVT-i four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 7-step CVT, producing 125 PS and 16.0 kg.m, while top-end models get a 3ZR-FE 2.0L Dual VVT-i four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 145 PS at 6,200 rpm and 187 Nm of torque at 3,600 rpm, also paired with a 7-speed CVT.
