2018 Porsche Cayenne (Spy Shot)
Even though the current model received some updates
earlier this year, mostly in connectivity, its successor is well underway and
tipped for a late 2017 debut, as a 2018 MY.
Under the black wrap, the shape
look familiar and is instantly recognizable as a Cayenne. The production model
will indeed not be radically different, just sharper and updated with some cues
from the Macan and the new Panamera.
It will
be all change, as the 2018 Cayenne will use the VW Group’s MLB SUV platform
that’s already debuted on the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga and will also
underpin the upcoming VW Touareg and Lamborghini Urus. This will reduce the
luxury SUV’s overall weight by up to 200 kg, with obvious benefits
for ride, handling and fuel consumption.
The cabin will get a total
redesign along the lines of the Panamera and ditch the huge array of buttons in
favor of a simpler and more user-friendly layout with touchscreens.
As for the engine line-up, expect
a range of turbocharged petrol as well as diesel units and a plug-in hybrid,
while an all-electric variant could also be on the cards for a future launch.
