Porsche 911 R by Bruce Canepa
There isn’t a limited edition
super car in the world Bruce Canepa can’t get his hands on, and so as expected
he has gotten himself his first Porsche 911 R. More and more people these days
seem to be going for the stripe-delete option, preferring a more ordinary,
discreet look for their R.
Canepa’s Porsche 911 R is one
such model, with the standard racing stripes removed and all of the option that
are usually taken out of the car put back to make this R more luxurious than
most of its brethren. This bad boy, number 592 of 991, also features Mocha
leather interior with Tartan cloth seats, carbon fiber trimming, and contrast
stitching. As mentioned, the car also gets auto air con, all the fancy
suspension and exhaust features, and the infotainment system.
Porsche 911 R is powered by a 500
horsepower flat-six engine which it shares with the GT3 RS. Where it differs
from that car though is the weight department where extensive use of carbon
fiber and removing some extra garnish, including the aero kit, has made the R a
lot lighter than the RS. What’s more, the R is an strictly manual car, which is
kind of the reason it has become so popular… so much so in fact that pretty
soon if you want one of these 911s you are going to have to shell out nearly a
million bucks!
