A new spy picture of the upcoming Yamaha R15 v3 has
come up on various Facebook groups revealing the entry level sports bike in
entirety. The faired motorcycle gets a highly aggressive front fairing which
will place it at par with the competition.
Apart from USD forks in the front, the Yamaha R15
v3.0 can be expected to continue with a link type monocross rear setup as seen
in the present model. The Yamaha R15 v2.0 gets an aluminium long arm swingarm
inspired from the previous generation R1. Expect the new one to get something
in similar spec as well.
The chassis can be based on the present deltabox
which lends the bike the ability to take over curves with utmost confidence.
Another major change will be on the powertrain. The Yamaha R15 v3.0 is expected
to displace around 155 cc and gain Variable Valve Actuation technology. This
will help the bike continue with its existing compact SOHC layout and yet
produce ideal amounts of power at low, mid as well as the top end of the rev range.
Other features gauged from spyshots include disc
brakes all around, LED headlamps with a huge ram intake (which may or may not
be functional) and an all-digital instrumentation. Expect the Yamaha R15 v3.0
to get a price hike. The bike can be expected to be launched by mid-2017.
