Chevrolet is finally set to launch a product of its own in the class – the Chevrolet Beat Essentia. Introduced as a near-production concept at Auto Expo 2016, the Chevrolet Beat Essentia will be based on the Indian-spec new generation Chevrolet Beat hatchback, which is a thoroughly revised version of the global third-gen Chevrolet Spark sold as the Chevrolet Beat in India since 2010.

The Chevrolet Beat Essentia will be offered with features like MyLink2 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration compatibility, driver information display inside the instrument panel, rearview camera, ABS and dual airbags.

The Chevrolet Beat Essentia will likely come with a sub-1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.0-litre three-cylinder diesel engine; both shared with the next-gen Chevrolet Beat. A 5-speed manual transmission should be standard. The sub-compact sedan will be built in Talegaon, Maharashtra.
