A new spy picture a motorcycle which hints
at a new variant of the Triumph Tiger 800 series has been spotted by MCN.
The vehicle carries a slightly modified chassis,
longer swingarm and a revised rear mono shock linkage. The exhaust pipes appear
thicker while the crankcase case seems to follow the language of the new 765 cc
powertrain seen in the new 2017 Triumph Street Triple.
The three pot 800 cc in-line, DOHC, liquid-cooled
mill is capable of producing a maximum output of 95 PS at 9,250 rpm and a peak
torque output of 79 Nm at 7,850 rpm.
The radiator has split into two portions, and the
ride height is reduced. The latter has not affected the ground clearance by the
reworked sump. Triumph already retails a 760 mm seat height version of Triumph
Tiger 800 XRx. A 790 mm seat height version of the off-road centric Tiger 800
XCx is also available.
The spy shot also reveals that the Triumph Tiger
gains a new LED daytime running light, while the rear view mirror resembles the
one seen in the new Triumph Street Triple RS.
