Next year, Volkswagen may introduce the next-gen VW Vento
(VW Polo Sedan) based on it. Automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania has created a
rendering with the next-gen VW Polo‘s expected design cues to preview the 2018
VW Vento.
The next-gen VW Vento will be
formed on the smallest version of the MQB (Modularer QuerBaukasten) platform –
MQB A0. First utilised for the all-new 2017 Seat Ibiza, the new platform should
make the car lighter, safer and more profitable. The
next-gen Polo is said to be around 70 kg lighter, and the sedan version may
witness a similar drop.
The current VW Vento is offered with 1.6-litre MPI
naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol, 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged
four-cylinder petrol and 1.5-litre TDI turbocharged diesel engines in India.
The next-gen model should be offered with the same engines with some revisions
for performance and efficiency.
