Australian pricing for the 2017 Aston Martin
Vanquish S has been announced, with first deliveries of the company’s
flagship sports car to arrive next month. Starting at AUD 489,950 excluding
on-road costs, the Vanquish S kicks off around AUD 4000 more than the model it
replaces, while being nearly AUD 13,000 cheaper than the outgoing Vanquish Carbon
Edition.
Headlining the updates is an uprated version of its
5.9-litre V12, which now
produces 604 Hp of power. It’s the
same engine that powers the limited-edition Vanquish Zagato
coupe and Volante twins.
The eight-speed automatic has also been revised to
deliver faster shift times and increased refinement at lower speeds, while a
new carbon-fibre aero package gives the Vanquish a more aggressive aesthetic.
While it may not look too different from the
previous model, the Vanquish S is distinguishable from the outgoing car by its
new quad-exhaust outlets, which are housed in a new carbon-fibre rear diffuser.
Thanks to the power bump and revised transmission, the
Vanquish S is capable from accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds –
0.3 seconds faster than the Vanquish – on its way to an unchanged top speed of
323 km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 13.1 L/100km on the European combined
cycle.
Inside, the Vanquish S is available with an array of
new carbon-fibre trim elements – including a beautiful Satin Chopped
Carbon-Fibre fascia panel for the centre console (above) – along with new
leather upholstery choices.
