The price of 2017 Volvo V90 Cross Country styled wagon will start from AUD 99,900 before on-road costs, or
AUD 110,060 drive-away – the latter coming from Volvo’s Australian online car
configurator.
The V90 Cross Country will
come in one grade and with one engine; the D5 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel and
in Inscription trim only. The Swedish manufacturer has clearly decided to take
a similar approach to its most natural rival Audi A6 Allroad.
The D5 turbo-diesel is shared with the S90, V90 and
XC90, developing a meaty 235 Hp of power and 480 Nm of torque, closely competing
with the V6 diesel-powered Audi A6 Allroad, which produces 218 Hp and 500 Nm from
its 3.0-litre single-turbo unit. Shifting gears is an eight-speed automatic
transmission as standard.
Standard features for the V90 Cross Country D5
Inscription include 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive LED headlights, electric
folding mirrors, four-zone climate control, nappa leather upholstery, 12.3-inch
digital driver’s display, electrically-adjustable front seats with driver’s
memory, powered tailgate, satellite navigation and keyless entry,.
Safety features, the off-road-styled V90 comes
equipped with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane
keep assist, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, rear-view
camera, Isofix child seat mounts, hill start assist, hill descent control, and
rear cross traffic alert.
The Volvo V90 Cross Country is scheduled to launch
in Australia sometime during the first half of this year, with this latest
development suggesting the new wagon will be arriving sooner rather than later.
