Honda has announced prices of the Honda CBR1000RR
and Honda CBR1000RR SP for the Japanese market. The Matte Black entry level
trim costs JPY 2,014,200 Yen while the CBR1000RR SP costs 2,462,400 Yen.
Powering the bikes is a 999 cc in-line,
four-cylinder, water-cooled, DOHC mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine
is capable of producing 192 PS of maximum power at 13,000 rpm and 114 Nm of
peak torque at 11,000 rpm. The bike also gets throttle by wire technology. The
Honda CBR1000RR SP gets a titanium fuel tank and exhaust.
The suspension system in the Honda CBR 1000RR SP has
been sourced from Ohlins and gets a 5 axis Bosch IMU which is an extension of
the Honda Selectable Torque System. Cornering ABS and Selectable Engine Braking
is also present. A power selector is also offered which has a Riding Mode
Select System with 5 levels of output character.
The entry level Honda CBR 1000RR gets a suspension
system by Showa while the brakes have been sourced from Tokico. Cornering ABS
is optional in this trim. The Honda CBR 1000RR SP tips the scales at 195 kg
while the Honda CBR 1000RR weighs 196 kg.
Both the bikes will be present at the upcoming Osaka
Motorcycle Show along with the Honda CBR250RR, Honda X-ADV, Honda Rebel 500 and
a concept cruiser called Honda Rebel 250.
