Tata Motors has revealed the specifications of the Tata Tigor ahead of its market launch on 29 March 2017.
The Tata Tigor measures 3,992 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width and 1,537 mm in
height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm.
There’s 419 litres of boot space in the car.
The Tigor shares
the XO platform and gets the same engines as the Tata Tiago. The 1.2-litre
Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine develops 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of
torque at 3,500 rpm, while the 1.05-litre Revotorq three-cylinder diesel engine
delivers 70 PS at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,800 rpm and 3,000
rpm.
The Tata Tigor gets a 5-speed manual transmission as
standard in petrol and diesel models, but the company could introduce an AMT
option after the car’s launch, as it did with the Tata Tiago. Automatic climate
control, multi function steering wheel, ConnectNext touchscreen infotainment
system with voice command recognition, four speakers and four tweeters,
dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD are some of the key features confirmed for
the Tata Tigor.
The Tata Tigor will compete with the Ford Figo
Aspire, Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Xcent when it goes on sale later this month.
