Mercedes-Benz
India announced that the compact Mercedes GLC SUV has entered local
assembly in Chakan, Pune. The locally assembled GLC arrives just ahead of the
festive season.
The GLC
is available in two diesel variants (GLC 220d Style, GLC 220d Sport) and one
petrol variant (GLC 300 Sport), and prices range between INR 47.90 Lakhs – INR
51.90 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi). The diesel variant packs a 2,143 cc
turbodiesel four cylinder engine that produces 170 PS and 400 Nm of torque.
The GLC
petrol packs a 1,991 cc turbocharged four cylinder motor that outputs 245 PS
and 370 Nm of torque. All three models are paired to a 9G-TRONIC automatic
gearbox as well as a 4MATIC AWD system with DYNAMIC SELECT.
The GLC
is the ninth model in Mercedes India’s range and fourth Mercedes SUV to enter
assembly at the company’s Chakan facility. Thanks to the lower tariff on CKDs,
the price of the SUV is now cheaper by up to INR 4.20 lakhs for the diesel
variant and by up to INR 4 lakhs for the petrol, as against the CBU variant
that came in June.
