Tthe Lexus brand has finally entered India officially. The Toyota Motor Corporation’s luxury brand has arrived with two vehicles at launch: Lexus ES and Lexus RX.

The Lexus ES is available in India only in the ES 300h model, for a price of INR 55,27,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It seems like Lexus India is targeting the Lexus ES at executive sedan buyers.


The Toyota Avalon-based sedan measures 4,915 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It’s powered by a 202 hp hybrid system comprising a 158 hp 2.5-litre petrol engine and a 140 hp electric motor. Power is sent to the wheels via an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission.

Noteworthy features of the Lexus ES include LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED tail lamps, 17-inch wheels, moonroof, three-zone climate control, 10-way driver and passenger power adjustable seats with memory, 8-inch Electro Multi-Vision (EMV) Display, 15-speaker Mark Levinson Premium surround sound system and ten airbags. The fuel economy is rated at 17.8 km/l.


The Lexus RX is available in India only in RX 450h model. Two trim levels are there: Luxury and Sport, priced at INR 1,07,29,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and INR 1,09,61,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

The Lexus RX measures 4,890 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,685 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,790 mm. Like the ES 300h, the RX 450h is a hybrid. However, the SUV’s powertrain consists of a 259 hp 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, a 165 hp electric motor and a 67 hp electric motor. Power is sent to the wheels via an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission.

LED headlamps, LED clearance and cornering lamps, LED tail lamps, sequential LED turn signals, 18-inch wheels, panoramic roof, colour head-up display, 12.3-inch Electro Multi-Vision (EMV) Display, dual-zone climate control, 10-way driver and passenger power adjustable seats with memory, front seat AC, front and rear seat heater, wireless charger, 15-speaker Mark Levinson Reference surround sound system and ten airbags are the equipment highlights of the Lexus RX. The fuel economy is rated at 18.8 km/l.


India will get the Lexus LX in the LX 450d model at launch. The Lexus LX will go on sale soon and its specifications are already out. India will get the full-size SUV in the LX 450d model.

The Lexus LX 450d measures 5,080 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,865 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The Toyota Land Cruiser 200-based SUV is powered by a 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine that produces 261 hp and 650 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Lexus LX will sit at the top of the Lexus line-up in India and offer features like LED headlamps, LED front fog lamps, LED tail lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, moonroof, 4-camera multi-terrain back monitor system, four-zone climate control, driver and front passenger power adjustable (driver – 10 way, passenger – 8 way) front seats, colour head-up display, 12.3-inch Electro Multi-Vision (EMV) Display, rear seat entertainment system with independent 11.6 inch displays, wireless charger and ten airbags.
