Nissan India has quietly slashed the prices of the
Nissan Sunny by up to a whopping INR 1.90 Lakhs. It is now priced between INR
6.99 Lakhs – INR 8.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The top-end petrol XV CVT variant receives an INR
1.90 lakh price cut, which is the biggest across the range. Priced at INR 8.99
Lakhs now, the Nissan Sunny seems more appealing given the features offered and
that its pricing is on par with top-end sub-4m sedans.
Nissan updated the Sunny in January to include new
features as well as an optional Sandstone Brown colour option and black
interior. The XV grade comes with features like intelligent key, push button
start, and safety features including anti-lock braking (ABS), electronic
brakeforce distribution (EBD), brake assist (BA) and four airbags.
The price cut comes from
increased levels of localisation at its production facility in Oragadam,
Chennai. Given that the average monthly sales of the Sunny nose-dived to 182
units in the past 6 months, the price cut comes as no surprise to us.
