Although Tata Motors has not explicitly confirmed
that a Tata Nexon Sport is in the works, reports suggest that such a variant
will be introduced in the market, developed by JT Special Vehicles, a Jayem
Automotives – Tata Motors JV.
To give an idea of what a sportier Tata Nexon could
look like, Shoeb R Kalania has created a speculative rendering of the Nexon
Sport featuring an aggressive body kit that comprises of a sporty front bumper
with large air inlets and radiator grille, black mesh grille and headlamp
detailing, large 17-inch black alloy wheels and a red embellisher underlining
the front bumper and side skirts.
Under the hood, the stock Nexon will pack a 1.2L
turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that also is rumoured to power the
sportier versions of the Tigor and Tiago. However, the Nexon’s unit could be
tuned to produce much more than 110 PS. A 6-speed manual transmission could be
standard, while a 5-speed AMT with paddle shifters is a possibility.
