The newly unveiled Bajaj Pulsar 160NS has been
spotted in India for the first time by a BikeAdvice reader. The camouflaged
motorcycle’s under-engine cowl’s and the rear drum brake confirms the
motorcycle’s identity. The wider crankcase cover also adds mettle to the belief
that this is the Bajaj Pulsar 160NS and not the Pulsar 150NS.
Powering the Bajaj Pulsar 160NS is a 160.3 cc
oil-cooled, single cylinder mill coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is
capable of producing 15.5 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of peak
torque at 6,500 rpm. In comparison, the Pulsar 150NS has an output of 17 PS and
13 Nm.
The bike is suspended over standard telescopic forks
up front and a monoshock in the rear with adjustable preload. Tyres in the
Bajaj Pulsar 160NS too are wider than the Pulsar 150NS. Brakes include a front
disc and rear drum setup as standard. A rear disc variant with ABS is also on
offer.
Bajaj is yet to confirm the Bajaj Pulsar 160NS for
the Indian market. If introduced, the motorcycle will be a competing against
the Yamaha FZ v2.0, Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet.
