Mahindra is showcasing a special edition model of
the XUV500 featuring a dual-tone colour scheme at Automobile Barcelona
that opened its doors on 11 May 2017.
Mahindra hasn’t revealed specific details, but the primary
colour looks like a shade of orange and brown. The pillars, roof, roof rails
and ORVMs are finished in black. The special edition model features
newly-designed black alloy wheels also. On the inside, there is front seat-back-integrated displays for the second-row passengers’
entertainment.
The Mahindra XUV500 special edition is in the top of
the range, w10 grade. It’s powered by the 2.2-litre mHawk140 turbocharged
diesel engine that produces 140 hp at 3,750 rpm and 330 Nm of torque
between 1,600 rpm and 2,800 rpm. This engine is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission to channel power
to the wheels.
Mahindra hasn’t announced plans to bring the
Mahindra XUV500 special edition to India. At home, the SUV was updated just
last month with Android Auto compatibility and other new infotainment system
features. Mild-hybrid tech was expected to arrive with this yearly refresh, but
that could be rolled in the next update along with cosmetic enhancers.
