Australia’s Renault Trafic range has seen the
addition of a striking new special model, the 2017 Renault Trafic Formula
Edition. Designed to highlight the brand’s experience in formula one racing,
the new motorsport-inspired cargo van has a few design highlights that set it
apart from the regular models in the range.
The Trafic Formula Edition is limited to 80 units,
with the choice of either Jet Black or Storm Grey paint – but the bits that
stand out most are the Renault Sport yellow highlights on the wheel-caps on the
black 17-inch wheels, upper and lower grille inserts, fog lamp surrounds, and
those eye-catching ‘Formula Edition’ stripes. It features a colour coding for
the front bumper, tail-light surrounds and door rail, and there’s a black
Renault diamond badge.
The interior has dark cloth
upholstery with a heated driver’s seat, a 7.0-inch media screen with
navigation, gloss black air-vent surrounds, a leather-trimmed gear selector
with chrome-plated trim, chrome speaker surrounds, LED overhead lights, and
‘Formula Edition’ floor mats.
It’s available in short- and long-wheelbase (SWB and
LWB) variants, with the standard 1.6-litre twin-turbo diesel engine and
six-speed manual gearbox (not the upgraded single-turbo unit in the base model
Trafic).
The list price for the SWB is AUD 41,990 plus on-road
costs and the LWB is listed at AUD 43,490.
