The next gen 2017 Hyundai Verna was spotted in Gurgaon, offers the best look at its interior.
The interior has been wrapped with canvas so it’s quite
hard to tell whether it’s a dual tone beige/black colour combo or an all black
interior. However, notice the seat upholstery in one
of the spyshots, suggesting that the dashboard
will be dual tone to match the seats.
The dashboard drops the
swooping, water-fall design for a floating one similar to the i20. The
touchscreen system is also visible, which is likely to be an 8 inch AVN unit
with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The wheelbase is also marginally
longer than before, so expect more knee-room for rear occupants.
The Verna’s dimension’s are likely to be similar to
the new North America-spec Accent, which measures 4,385 mm in length, 1,729 mm
in width and 1,450 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. The Indian
version will carryover the engine lineup from the outgoing car, which includes
1.4- and 1.6-litre N/A petrol and turbodiesel engines paired. While the
5-speed/6-speed manual options stay, Hyundai could drop the 4-speed AT for the
Hyundai Creta’s 6-speed unit in both 1.6 petrol and turbodiesel variants.
Hyundai could also work on increasing the fuel
mileage, so expect the figures to be slightly more than the current Verna’s
24.8 km/l (1.4L CRDi turbodiesel), 23.9 km/l (1.6L CRDi turbodiesel), 17.4 km/l
for the (1.4L MPI petrol) and 17.01 km/l for the (1.6 MPI petrol).
The new Verna is reported to launch in August.
Prices are estimated to mirror the current Verna, which retails between INR
7,95,599 to INR 1,317,385 (ex-showroom Delhi).
