Triumph India will be launching the new 2017 Triumph
Street Triple on June 12, 2017. The motorcycle range was unveiled globally in
February 2017. The same powerplant will also be used in Moto2 races from June
2019 (with several modifications).
The 2017 Triumph Street Triple range includes three
variants, Street Triple S, Street Triple R and Street Triple RS. The new 765 cc
triple cylinder, the liquid-cooled mill produces 113 PS in the entry level
Triumph Street Triple S. In the Triumph Street Triple R, it produces 118 PS
while in the flagship Triumph Street Triple RS, it is capable of 123 PS maximum
power.
The bike also gets new LED headlamps and a new TFT
instrumentation console for the R and RS trim. The bug-eyed 2017 Triumph Street
Triple also gets features like traction control, ride by wire technology and
switchable ABS. The base variant gets Showa forks and Nissin calipers and
riding modes (Rain and Road).
The Triumph Street Triple R gets adjustable Showa
suspension at both ends, Brembo M4 32 four-piston calipers, body coloured fly
screen and 4 riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain and Rider). The Triumph Street
Triple RS gets M50 calipers, Showa Big Piston fork & Ohlins monoshock,
quickshifter and a 5th ridging mode (Track).
