Aprilia India has launched the Aprilia Shiver 900 and Aprilia Dorsoduro 900. Unveiled at EICMA 2016, both the dual-purpose and naked motorcycles replace the older 750 cc models. The launch also marks the debut of the Shiver brand name in India.
Powering the two motorcycles is an 896.1 cc Longitudinal 90° V-twin mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 95.2 hp of maximum power at 8,750 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. Both the Aprilia Shiver 900 and Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 get ride by wire, lighter alloy wheels, and a 4.3-inch TFT display. An optional AMP kit for smartphone connectivity is also available.


The bikes are anchored on 41 mm upside down fork up front with 120 mm of travel in the Aprilia Shiver 900 and 160 mm travel in the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900. The rear monoshock in the Shiver 900 has 130 mm of travel while the Dorsoduro 900 boasts of 160 mm of travel. The naked roadster gets a new traction control system while the electronic aide is switchable in the Dorsoduro 900. The dual-purpose motorcycle also gets three riding modes (Sport, Touring, and Rain).

The Aprilia Shiver 900 has a 15-litre fuel tank while the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 has a smaller 12-litre fuel tank. Both bikes get twin 320 mm discs up front and a 240 mm unit in the rear. Dual channel ABS is standard.

The Aprilia Shiver 900 and Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 have an introductory price tag of INR 11.99 lakhs and INR 12.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune) on limited units. From July 1, the bikes will be priced at INR 1,332,930 for the Shiver 900 and INR 1,383,652 for the Dorsoduro 900 (both ex-showroom, Pune).
