The Corvette ZR1 could be coming soon than expected
as Automobile Magazine is reporting the car could be shown at the 24 Hours of
Le Mans. The location would be a fitting choice as the ZR1 is expected to be
the most powerful and track-capable Corvette ever created.
Nothing is official at this point but one of the
magazine's readers sent them photos of a Corvette hiding underneath a cover.
The model was being flown on a Boeing 747 and it was the only car on the
flight.
This doesn't necessarily mean anything by itself but
the prototype is notable because General Motors put extra effort into the car.
The rear fascia is completely camouflaged and the car
rides on bright wheels which gives it more of a production look.
This could suggest the company is planning to unveil
the prototype at Le Mans this weekend. Chevrolet has remained tight-lipped about the ZR1
but rumors suggest the model will be powered by a twin-turbo LT5 V8 engine that
develops more than 700 hp.
