The 2018 Chevrolet
Equinox Diesel will be priced from US$ 31,435 in the United States. CarsDirect
reports the Equinox LT with the diesel engine will cost US$ 3,740 more than models
equipped with the turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 170 hp and 275 Nm of torque.
When comparing the diesel engine to the turbocharged
2.0-liter four-cylinder, with 252 hp and 353 Nm of torque,
the price difference drops to just US$ 1,345.
Of course, the diesel engine isn't as powerful as
the other two options as the 1.6-liter unit cranks out 137 hp and 325 Nm of torque. On the upside, the model is expected to return 32 mpg
city / 40 mpg highway with front-wheel drive and 31 mpg city / 37 mpg highway
with all-wheel drive.
Buyers looking for something more luxurious can
order the Equinox Premier Diesel which starts at US$ 33,930. The model costs US$ 2,195 more than the Premier with the 1.5-liter engine but is actually US$ 600
less than the Premier with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine because it doesn't
include additional features such as a dual exhaust system and 19-inch alloy
wheels.
