A new low-cost version of the Mahindra Mojo has been
caught by Motorbeam. The images reveal the presence of a single sided exhaust
and lower specification, thinner profile tyres. The USP of the standard
Mahindra Mojo are its dual sided exhaust which produce a unique exhaust note
and the premium 150-section Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres. The tyre on the test
unit appears to be a 140-section unit.
Previously a low-cost version of the Mahindra Mojo
was spied but the test unit had flaunted standard telescopic forks. The test
unit spotted now gets the same upside down fork up front as the existing bike.
There are also rumors that this low-cost version will get a carburettor instead
of fuel injection to bring down the price of the bike. The 21-litre fuel tank
though will be retained.
The Mahindra Mojo is at present retailed in Black,
White and Red colour options. The bike is powered by a 295 cc single cylinder,
DOHC, liquid-cooled, fuel injected mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The
engine is capable of producing 27 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 30 Nm of
peak torque at 5,500 rpm.
The Mahindra Mojo is at present priced at INR
173,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the low-cost version of the bike can be
expected at around the INR 1.5 lakh mark.
